Criminal IQ

First off a big thank you to all who came to last weeks 2 day label showcase and to all the bands. Recent multi-million dollar signing THE CATBURGLARS bought out a ton of people all of whom are well aware of what these boys bring to a party – Their LP will be released on CRIMINALIQ in 2009 and will rock the shit out of you. MOTO played too long as usual but I still managed to squeeze two extra motogems out of them. VEEDEE and the MEN were both just plain brilliant – big ups to our boys at the Gator for letting the show roll on way past bedtime. Saturdays show was just as great despite the shitty weather. Chicago’s SHOPPING pulled out their best show to date – those kids just get better and better. KIM PHUC destroyed us whilst wearing their jim jams, KRUNCHIES are still our favorite band to cause trouble to, HOLY SHIT! geriatric stalked it, and the TERRIBLE TWO’S are getting scary good right now. Bands! We salue you with the we wave our knobs at you in salute.

THREE New 7”s are available now. KIM PHUC’s fucking excellent deathrock roller Wormwood Star, THE RUNS – Piss and Shit EP an offensive must for any holiday party, and some great (and we do mean truly GREAT) garage punk from Austin texas’ THE YOUNG. These records are stealthily creeping their way through the underground with reviews recently popping up in magazines like the UK’s WIRE. I have asked the RUNS to send MTV their scat video but seriously doubt it would get the airplay it so richly deserves.

Our plums will be firmly plopped in VEEDEE’s mouths over the next coupla months, as we finally get ready to release the latest batch of their recent studio work and rest assured it will have been worth the wait – this album, PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM, is a fucking monster to get in the ring with. Release date is set for March 17th the LP will go on pre-sale the month of February – 600 copies only so watch this space for details (VEE DEE's recent 7" Glimpses of Another World is available once more - black vinyl 300 copies - check the store for availability).
